Last updated: December 3, 2019
Tell me what I can do
Its very critical to implement what is in theory book into real application. While companies like Ola, Uber are holding major market share. By adopting platform cooperativism, commons will be the beneficiary. People with less or no technical knowledge will be able to adopt the same technological advantages as corporate platforms having. More jobs will be produced. After all, it will nurture democratic, sharing culture of the society.
The ‘we’ above mentioned can be any of the following.
- Entrepreneur.
- Technocrat who knows how to code or a devop.
- Service provider.
- Commons
An entrepreneur can build a cooperative which makes free / libre platforms for other worker-owned cooperatives. While a technocrat or a DevOps could help the on the development and policy making of platform by involving in software development processes or build automation. Service providers can set-up a worker-owned cooperative and employee appropriate software platform and its maintainers. The very important part, a common could make is to participate in it. It could be booking a ride with a car drivers cooperatives platform, involving in policy making or being active in discussions.
Governments participation can be inducing regulations to corporate platforms. Countries like Germany, England, even United States is inducing regulations over corporate platforms. Governments could encourage adoption of platform cooperativism by funding, on start-up policies, encouraging adoption etc.
Platform cooperativism has to essential for this new-normal world order and it has to be adopted. Humanity and human sharing nature has to celebrated and we have to make an end to corporate exploitation.
